Use Google to figure out how to enable Developer options on your phone if it’s currently hidden (for example, search “enable developer options HTC One”).
Once you have access to Developer options, simply scroll until you find the following three settings, which may be located on the main screen or within an “Advanced” subsection:
- Window animation scale
- Transition animation scale
- Animator animation scale
Tapping each of the three aforementioned settings will reveal that it’s set to “1x” by default. If you want to speed up your phone or tablet dramatically, simply change each of those three settings to “.5x” — that’s it.
Just as iOS 7.1 completely changed the feel of the iPhone user experience by speeding up transitions, this will do the same for Android devices. Adjusting these settings also shouldn’t really have any impact on battery life, though if you’re using an older phone with a slower processor you may see some choppiness.

How to Install ATI AMD Catalyst 11 7 Linux Driver in Ubuntu 11 04 Natty Narwhal
For both ATI and Nvidia GPU devices in GNU/Linux you should have installed the proprietary drivers if you want to get the full throttle out of your awesome VGA card :D. For instance, with the recent netbooks related AMD Fusion chip-sets where we have both a CPU and the GPU at the same "core" (same physical chip), if you havent installed the proprietary driver then the GPU will not be able to play HD videos nor 3D games and rendering in general in full throttle :/.
So although the idea of "proprietary" is not compatible with the GNU license but thats how the world is anyway, you can either chose to swim with it or against.. (what the heck am I talking, sorry about that).
Anyhow, few days ago ATI (now owned by AMD) released the latest version of their Catalyst driver for GNU/Linux: the 11.7!.
Unlike with many other releases the 11.7 version does bring few major features or changes in general such as...

*. VLC player 1.1.9 related hardware acceleration bug fixed.
*. PowerXpress support for GNU/Linux (finally) - This technology makes it easy to switch between discrete graphics and dedicated graphics (say when you use your Netbook on AC power) which delivers better performs or low performance and enhanced battery life.
*. Few Catalyst control center related bug fixes.
*. De-noise and few other video playback related performance related bug fixes... are just a few to mention.
You can install the ATI/AMD Catalyst 11.7 driver in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal by using the below procedure (for 10.10 and 10.04 users please read from the official AMD Wiki pages, here and here).
*. If have you installed any previous proprietary drivers such as the 11.6 series for instance, then you must remove them before proceeding!.
Now Im not going to do a lot of "explaining" because I feel like Id easily make some of you guys confused.. So basically just enter the below command in your Terminal window (Again remember, these steps are only for those of you who have installed an older version of Catalyst drivers).
sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
If you get an error saying that such command does not exists, etc then use the below one instead.
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev* xorg-driver-fglrx
Now lets begin the actual installation procedure.
1. Now first download the actual driver wizard (it contains both 32-bit and 64-bit versions integrated) and make it executable. For that enter the below commands.
cd ~/; mkdir catalyst11.7; cd catalyst11.7/
wget http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ati-driver-installer-11-7-x86.x86_64.run
chmod +x ati-driver-installer-11-7-x86.x86_64.run
2. Now use the below commands to install it.
sudo -s
./ati-driver-installer-11-7-x86.x86_64.run
Just follow your on-screen instructions (the installer is pretty much automatic) and within few minutes you should have installed the AMD/ATI Catalyst 11.7 in Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal.
3. Optional Step -
Most people might not need this, but if you found that the graphics are actually worse looking or the ATI driver is not loaded into the Ubuntu then you might want to update a configuration file called "xorg.conf". As said youd probably wont need to do this, but if you need then open enter the below command in your Terminal.
sudo aticonfig --initial -f
Thats it. Now youre done!.
Below method is not necessary by any mens and its only for those of you who wants to manually build ".deb" packages only.
Need a pre-build ".deb" file?
You can create a ".deb" file if you want. It can be quite handy if you want re-install the driver after a fresh install of Ubuntu where you dont have to re-download some of the required packages to build the driver and install. So...
If youd like you can make that ".deb" package of the installer first and then install it too. To do that skip the step "2" and enter the below commands instead (and might want to use that step "3" command too).
First we gotta get the pre-requisite packages.
A. Get the pre-requisite packages - Although this may not be necessary for some since youd probably have them installed automatically installing other apps as dependencies but do it just in case. Open your Terminal window and enter the below command.
sudo apt-get install build-essential cdbs fakeroot dh-make debhelper debconf libstdc++6 dkms libqtgui4 wget execstack libelfg0 dh-modaliasesB. If you use the 64-bit Ubuntu Linux version then make sure to install the below packages too (only for the 64-bit geeks).
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
C. Now lets build the ".deb" file. For that use the below command.
sudo sh ./ati-driver-installer-11-7-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/natty
D. Now install it by using the below command.
sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb

Although the sole purpose of using MS Windows 7 in a powerful desktop PC is all about gaming :P... thus accessing advanced power settings makes little sense to most. But, if you use a portable device, say something like an Ultraportable Laptop or a Netbook, etc then configuring few advanced power settings concerning Windows 7 can come in handy.
When it comes to desktop UI designs it maybe true that you can learn a lot of from Apple Mac but the Gnome desktop developers can also learn a great deal from Microsoft. For instance, in Windows 7 (including Vista) Microsoft has done an excellent job of creating a pretty simple power related configuration window which is really good for the newbies since it doesnt "touch" a lot of advanced settings.
But unlike with the GNU/Linux default desktop, the Gnome, if youd rather like to have some additional control over the computer then you easily do so in Windows 7. Most of the average users like me know how to do this. But for those who dont ... this is how you access that additional configuration settings that lets you change a big list of advanced settings concerning the ACPI of your PC.
1. First click on the Batter or the Charger icon on your notification area and from the window choose "More power options" as shown in the below screenshot.
2. Then from the next window that you get, choose the "Power plan" that you want these settings to be applied and click on the Link next to it that says "Change plan settings" which should bring a new window similar to the below one.
3. From the next window that you get, look for the bottom section and click on that says "Change advanced power settings" as with below picture.
Once you click on this link you should be reveled by a new window that lets you configure a lot of advanced power settings concerning your hardware through the ACPI (advanced configuration and power interface, a standard) and using this you can change some big number of settings such as:

*. Pause the desktop background slide-show.
*. Change whether the Wireless adapter should give you the maximum performance or maximum power efficiency.
*. Enable/disable wake timers, change auto hibernate time or enable the Hybrid sleep mode (turned on by default for Desktops), etc.
*. PCI Express cards related settings.
*. Change Advanced Processor related settings such as: Cooling policy, Minimum processor state or Maximum processor usage limiter (which can have a significant effect on your battery life if you know how to balance things a bit :D), etc.
*. Display related settings.
*. Multimedia related settings such as : Enable/Disable media sharing, switch between performance and low power mode while playing videos.
*. Internet Explorer related Javascrpt timer setting.
*. GPU related settings.
My personal favorite is few of the settings that this window allows you concerning the battery. For instance, if youre trying to calibrate your battery then sometimes its important to let it completely drain itself (0% or somewhere near). But by default, Windows will put your Laptop into Sleep mode when it reaches a certain point in its battery life (default is 7%) which is called "Reserve battery level".
But if you forcefully disabled it then when the battery reaches about 5%, Windows WILL put your computer into Hibernate mode which in this case (were trying to calibrate the battery, remember? :D) is not what we want since wed like our battery to die to its absolute zero or close. So in that case, you can use this window to re-configure and completely disable that default action which is very handy in my experience.
But once youre done with the calibration make sure to set things in their default values since these power modes do help to recover your PC from failures. Also remember except for some (such as the mentioned "Better critical..." settings) most of these settings are automatically adjusted when you change settings in the "Power Plans window. But this configuration window gives a lot of advanced options that are sometimes necessary to get the most out of your PC nonetheless. Good luck.

How to create a bootable Windows 7 USB flash drive
You may know this fact that,we can boot windows from any sources like other networks,usb,cd etc.In this article,I will show you how to load the Windows installation on to your USB flash drive and make it bootable just like the DVD.Booting Windows from a USB flash drive has several advantages.First of all, the overall speed of the installation process will increase significantly, carrying a USB stick is much more convenient than a DVD, and finally it becomes possible to install the OS even on those systems that do not have a DVD drive, such as a notebook pcs or systems with only cd drives.REQUIREMENTS
- USB flash drive with a minimum capacity of 4 GB.
- Windows 7 set-up DVD.
STEPS TO MAKE A BOOTABLE USB
1. Plug-in your USB flash drive to USB port.
2. Open Command Prompt with admin rights. Use any of the below methods to open Command Prompt with admin rights.
- Type cmd in Start menu search box and hit Ctrl+ Shift+ Enter.
- Go to Start menu > All programs > Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
3. Type the command DISKPART and hit enter to see the below message
4. Next type LIST DISK command and note down the Disk number (ex: Disk 1) of your USB flash drive. In the below screenshot my Flash Drive Disk no is Disk 1.( Disk 0 will be your harddisk )
5. Next type all the below commands one by one. Here I assume that your disk drive no is “Disk 1”.If you have Disk 2 as your USB flash drive then use Disk 2.Refer the above step to confirm it.Make sure that each is completed successfully.Refer the screenshot given below to know possible success messages
SELECT DISK 1
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
ASSIGN
EXIT
Don’t close the command prompt as we need to execute one more command at the next step. Just minimize it.
6. Next insert your Windows7/Vista DVD into the optical drive and check the drive letter of the DVD drive. Here my DVD drive letter is "I" and USB drive letter is “J” (open my computer to check this).
7. Maximize the minimized Command Prompt in the 4th step.Type the following command now:
I: CD BOOT and hit enter.Where “I” is my DVD drive letter.( give your DVD drive letter )
CD BOOT and hit enter.
8. Type another command given below to update the USB drive with BOOTMGR compatible code. CD BOOT and hit enter.
BOOTSECT.EXE /NT60 J:
( replace J with your usb drive letter )
Once you enter the above command you will see the below message.
9. Now this is the final step,just Copy all the contents of Windows 7/Vista DVD to the USB flash drive.
10. Thats it you are done !!!!!!! Your USB drive is ready to boot and install Windows 7/Vista. Just change the boot priority at the BIOS to USB from the HDD or CD ROM drive.( normally F12 or F8 ,shortcuts for selecting the boot device )
