Hati – Hati Telah ditemukan Jenis Virus Baru Frankenmalware

Guide to Usenet Usenet – download faster than torrents Fastest download speeds

Guide to Usenet Usenet – download faster than torrents Fastest download speeds

I am pretty much bombarded with questions regarding Usenet in my seminars and on my email, so I thought why not to cover a guide over it. Usenet is the granddaddy of networks, yep, I said it. You might flame me by citing Arpanet and some other primitive networks, but then again, it was Usenet which prevailed massively before the modern Internet and was the hip thing which allowed to share binary files,movies (even your fantasy p**n stuff ), games and a lot more. Basically Usenet was a kind of BBS where the first generation of geeks shred what they had, in the 80’s, someone came with an idea of sharing binary files (read:your standard files) over Usenet and there we go, it became a phenomenon. Most people joined Usenet so as to get access to those files and trust me; it was a phenomenon to witness.

Usenet is based on decentralized servers which share content with each other over UUCP protocol, and has content arranged in a hierarchical manner - theprohack.com

Usenet is based on decentralized servers which share content with each other over UUCP protocol, and has content arranged in a hierarchical manner.

  • Enough theory, lets get on to some interesting facts (in context with torrent junkies and conspiracy theories :P ):
  • Usenet is faster than the fastest of Torrent Trackers, BLAZING fast speeds,and I mean it.
  • Usenet has a lot more data categorized there to be picked by the worthy then your best Torrent tracker can ever get.
  • No Seeding, No Uploading, Instant Speeds ! It’s a wonderland for 24X7 downloaders.
  • Usenet is dying, and whatever is left of it, is quite different from what it originally was.
  • Usenet is dying because government can’t control it.

Ridiculously , we all have heard of Usenet , but as far as I know people, nobody uses it. I got my first slice of it in 2007 and since then, I have loved every bit of it. It’s an outstanding archive of data which you may not find over Internet, yep, it’s that good.

The primary reason Usenet is not so popular because people just don’t want to use their heads. They just want a point-click-download option to download their files. As compared to traditional downloading and torrents, Usenet is a bit different to setup, and I will tell you how to set it up, really.

Step 1 - Choose Your Usenet Service

Long ago, ISP’s hosted Usenet binaries and provided access to Usenet and news servers. They were happy with people connecting and subscribing to these services and infact actually supported by giving long retention time (the time for which a file is hosted over a Usenet server) to the binaries. But then the advances in technology gave people amazing speeds and faster broadband connections and they literally abused by downloading like there was no tomorrow. Further the government was pissed off by the amount of illegal data (read:child p**n and sm*t) hosted there and decided to shut it off, although not fully successful, the ISP responded by putting bandwidth constraints , restricted content and a lot of weird measures.

Step 1 - Choose Your Usenet Service - theprohack.comAnyways, to get to the mother load of the downloading, you need access to the alt.binaries content and for that, you need to buy access. Really Sorry! But Usenet isnt a p2p and you have to pay for bandwidth and storage it if you want to use it. The best news? for a meager 15$ per month you get a month for unlimited, unthrottled access. Okay, it might be a lot for you, but if you want to have a Usenet experience, you can have a free trial at Usenet providers like GigaNews or Astraweb. Dont forget to look at -

  • The retention time.(300 days +)
  • The number of parallel connections (more connections, more speed, but it stops meaning anything unless you are on a 100Mb pipe)
  • Download limits (amount of data you can download..obviously)

Step 2 - Choose your Client

Again, just like you use utorrent / xunlei to download your torrents, you need a client to download yor files through Usenet. Someties you may have noticed a torrent file which is broken into 20 MB rar files each, probably that file has been downloaded from Usenet and uploaded to torrent, as in Usenet a file can not be uploaded beyond a fixed size, that too in a compressed form. The real trouble starts to download and organize those files, but fear not, thats what are Usenet clients for; they download and join those compressed files into one automatically. My favorite one is SABnzbd, and I will be covering the rest of guide taking it in view. Like torrent files (.tor), in Usenet NZB files are used to point out and download files, your client will be able to figure it out.

My favorite one is SABnzbd, and I will be covering the rest of guide taking it in view. - theprohack.com

Download SABnzbd

Run the program and SABnzbd will open in a browser window.

Run the program and SABnzbd will open in a browser window. - theprohack.com

Now click on “Config” tab and click on “servers”

 Now click on “Config” tab and click on “servers” - theprohack.com

Enter the server settings your Usenet provider gave you after signup (Astrawebs at left). Staying in the "Config" page, click "Folders"

Staying in the "Config" page, click "Folders" - theprohack.com

Select the folder where you want to download files and the temporary files folder (pretty standard stuff) .Also choose a "Watched" folder where the NZB files will be placed and SABnzbd will know what you want it to download. Make it a place thats easy for you to save to, from a browser.

Once done, you are ready to explore Usenet.

Step 3 – Downloading files

“Usenet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea- massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it”

- Gene Spafford

Yep..Usenet is an incomprehensible mess. Thats why they created search engines like Newzbin (paid and invite only), NZB.org, Binsearch, Newsleach to find your files using NZB format and to download it. Think of it like torrent search engine where you find your favorite files.

Once you find your NZB, download it to the your "Watch" directory and SABnzbd will take care of it . Or you can download it wherever you want, and add it manually to SABnzbd by going to "Add File". Once done, you will have something like this -

downloading and adding files - theprohack.com

Its working! And yes, its really going that fast.

But if If its not downloading, you may need to check your server settings as some ISPs block the default port, 119. WOrry not, you can use another one that your provider supports. 8080,1818 are some common ones.

Once downloaded, it will automatically be joined and served with chilled beer (just kidding)

Thats Usenet :)

Enjoy…

How to Make Money From Your Blog – Direct Methods

How to Make Money From Your Blog – Direct Methods

Having thought through whether you should blog for money it is now worth taking a look at some of the different models for doing so. I tend to break the different models that bloggers are using to make money from blogging into two areas – Direct and Indirect methods.

Direct Income Earning Methods - these methods are where a blogger earns an income directly FROM their blog.

Indirect Income Earning Methods – these methods are where a blogger earns an income BECAUSE of their blog.

Most blogs tend to fall into one or the other of these methods – although there is nothing to stop bloggers experimenting with elements of both ( Ive seen a few bloggers get into trouble with this.

In this post Ill look at 8 direct income earning methods and in the next post of this series Ill explore indirect methods. Please note that on occasion in the following post there will be few affiliate links to services that I use and have had some success with. These will be marked with (aff) after them.

Direct Income Earning Methods for Bloggers

1. Advertising

There are many ways of selling advertising space on a blog (this could almost be a series of its own) but some of the different advertising options that I see bloggers experimenting with include:

  • Contextual Advertising – Programs like AdSense and YPN (beta) are very popular with bloggers and are probably the most common income stream being used by them today (MSN are developing one too). In short – these programs scan the content of your blog to assertion what its topic is and attempt to put contextually relevant ads (text and image) onto your blog. They are generally simple to use and involve pasting some code into your blogs templates. Payment is on a per click basis (referred to as CPC or cost per click ads). Contextual ads suit blogs that have a particular niche topic, especially if it has some sort of commercial angle (ie it has products and services associated with it). They are not so good with general type blogs (ie many topics) and/or political/spiritual blogs which argue just one side of a case (this confuses AdSense). I write much more extensively on how to use AdSense on your blog here.

  • Other CPC Advertising – There are a variety of other ad systems that pay on a per click basis which are not contextual in nature (which is important as systems like AdSense do not allow you to run contextual ads on the same page view as them). These systems include Chitikas eMiniMalls (aff) which I reviewed here.
  • Impression Based Ads – Impression based ads pay a small amount for every person who views the advertisement. The amount that they pays varies from program to program (and ad to ad) and is generally a fraction of a cent. There are a variety of ad systems around like this including Fastclick (aff) which I reviewed here and Tribal Fusion. Impression based ads wont earn you much if you dont have a lot of traffic but can be great if you do.
  • Blog Ads – BlogAds have become something of an institution when it comes to advertising on blogs. They traditionally have had a focus upon monetizing political blogs but are expanding their focus lately. The beauty of them is that bloggers set their own rates and can accept or reject advertisers that apply to them to be featured on their blogs. These ads put the control of what ads show and how much they earn into the hands of the blogger. The downside is that if you price them too high you could never have any ads showing at all. They can also be difficult to be accepted into as a publisher as these days they only accept people into the system if they have a someone who is already in sponsor or recommend the new publisher.

  • Text Ads – Another increasingly popular way to sell ads on your blog is to look into text links. The beauty of these are that they dont take up much room and that depending upon the system you choose to run them you can have control over which advertisers you accept and reject. AdBrite (aff) is one such system that gives you control in a similar way to BlogAds in that you set your own prices and approve all ads. They also other other formats of ads. (aff) is another text link seller that more and more bloggers are using. The beauty of both of these systems is that they have a pool of advertisers already so you dont have to go looking for your own advertisers. Their systems are also both very automated and are just a matter of pasting some code onto your blog. I use them both and while they dont earn anywhere near as much as AdSense or Chitika for me they add up over the year and have done well for me. Bidvertiser and Adzaar are other system that I know are popular with some (weve used them quite successfully on b5media although I have little personal experience with them).
  • RSS Ads – An increasingly popular way for people to read blogs is via RSS. As a result publishers and ad providers have been keen to find ways to place ads in feeds. These attempts have been met with a variety of success levels. Im yet to hear of too many people making big dollars with RSS ads yet but the ad systems seem to be improving. AdSense offers RSS ads to some of its publishers (you have to have a certain number of impressions first) as does YPN. Feedburner is a tool Ive used to help monetise my own feeds – they give publishers three options (1. AdSense if youve been approved by them, 2. Amazon affiliate program and 3. if you have a lot of subscribers (over 500) they have an Ad Network). is another system that you might like to try (although Ive not had much experience with it).

  • Other Ads Systems – In addition to the above systems (most of which Ive used myself) are many other advertising options which Ive not had experience with and so wont personally recommend. Im sure they are worth experimenting with however as I see many of them being used by bloggers every day. Here they are in no particular order:
  • AdGenta, CrispAds, Clicksor, Intelli Txt, Peak Click, Double Click, Industry Brains, AdHearUs, Kanoodle, AVN, , Adknowledge, YesAdvertising, RevenuePilotTextAds, SearchFeed, Target Point, OneMonkey, and TextAds. Feel free to add your own and tell us how youve gone with them in comments below.

2. Sponsorship

Another form of advertising that a smaller number of bloggers are using is to find their own advertisers. All of the above systems have the advantage of finding you advertisers (or at least assisting in the automation of ads to your blog) but as your blog grows in profile and influence you might find other options for private deals come up.

The big blog networks have people dedicated to the task of finding advertisers (often working through ad agencies) but smaller bloggers might find this worthwhile also. Ive been selling ads on my Digital Camera Blog for two years now and as its grown in traffic and profile and managed to attract larger companies (who are willing to pay more) to buys space. Currently the blog features ads from Adobe who have bought a combination of banner, newsletter and text ads.

The key if youre going to take this approach is to target advertisers in your niche that have products that closely relate to what youre writing about. There are a variety of ads that you can offer them including banner ads, buttons, text links, mentions in newsletters and even individual post sponsorships. I would highly recommend that you always make it clear to readers that your post is a sponsored one when youre writing a sponsored post.

3. Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs are where you take a commission for referring a reader who purchases a product or service to a company. Probably the most common of these for bloggers is Amazon which has tens of thousands of products that you can link to (I reviewed it here). Other affiliate programs that represent many different companies and products include Linkshare, Commission Junction and Clickbank.

Affiliate programs take some work if you want to get the most out of them (perhaps more work than advertising) but can be lucrative if you match the right program with the right blog/topic. If you want to explore affiliate programs more you might like to read 10 tips for using affiliate programs on you blog.

4. Selling/Flipping Blogs

The idea of selling (or flipping) your blog is one that many bloggers have in the back of their minds for one day but in reality it is not something that is overly common… yet (I think this is changing). Probably the largest sale is that of Weblogs Inc (a network of blogs) which sold to AOL for a reported $25 million. Of course this is the stuff that most of us can only dream of – but there are examples of smaller blogs being sold, either privately or via auctions on sites like eBay and SitePoint. One such auction was that of the Blog Herald which took place here.

Starting a blog with the main goal of selling it down the track is one that Ive heard of a number of bloggers doing but few have been successful. Rather than starting with this intention I think if you start with the intention of building a quality site that has a large readership and its own good income stream you are more likely to find buyers down the track.

5. Donations and Tip Jars

A very small number of blogs have a history of making good money with these (Jason Kottke being one of them). To be successful with asking for money from readers youll want to have a large and loyal readership (and a rich one might help too). Most bloggers just dont have the critical mass or the cult following to make it work.

6. Merchandise

Another method that some blogs use with reasonable effect is to sell T-Shirts, Mugs, Stickers etc with the blogs name, logo and/or taglines on it. This is another idea that will probably only work if you either have a brilliantly designed merchandise range and/or you have a cult-like status as a blogger with some fanatical readers who are a little obsessive about your blog. Some blog topics lend themselves to this more than others.

7. Selling Subscriptions

The idea of charging readers for content is one that surfaces from time to time. While there are numerous websites around the web that do this successfully (community membership sites) Im yet to see many (any) blogs do it well. The problem that most bloggers who have tried it have run into is that most topics that you could think to start a blog about already have free sites available. To make it succeed you would need to have some sort of premium/exclusive content and/or real expertise on a topic.

8. Blog Networks

Another emerging income source for bloggers are blog networks. There are two ways to make money here. Firstly you can start a network and contract bloggers to write for you or secondly you might like to join a blog network as a writer. There are many networks out there and all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Ill attempt to write a post on what to think about when youre looking at whether to join a network later in this series.

Next in the series well look at indirect ways of making money because of your blog.

Happy New Year 2013 – Best Wishes from Prohack

2012 was a formidable year : ] I was busy, in fact I have never been busier in my life and I find myself guilty of going into hibernation multiple times even when I didn’t wanted to. I promise 2013 will be the year of change , and I would dedicate myself over some newer interests and projects, this time, open source ones. I had enough of closed source pentest and scouting, nevertheless, It was an year where I -

  • Completed multiple <unmentionable> targets at corp level. [4]
  • Ran IOU on my laptop and simulated complete corporate cloud over it.
  • Learnt and explored more about networks.
  • Brokeup with my girlfriend : P
  • and at last , resigned from Tulip Telecom to join Orange Business Services, a subsidiary of France Telecom. In fact I will be joining in early Jan 2013.

I hope Orange will be my home away from home and will open symbiotic and never before possible opportunities for me, and I am quite excited about it. I hope I will be able to take more time for my projects and share with you some exciting findings. When i look back at 2012, it was an year that taught me a lot of things, it was full of surprises and I hope 2013 will be an awesome year for all of us.

Hacking Dominos Coupon Generator – Free Dominos Pizza Coupons Discounts

Hacking Dominos Coupon Generator – Free Dominos Pizza Coupons Discounts

After multiple failed attempts to place an order of pizza and getting tired of taking follow-ups from folks at Axis Bank and Bill Desk (the gateway that  takes care of Dominoss online pizza orders) , I was frustrated a lot. Then , I came across Dominos Slot machine coupon generator. An innocent looking random coupon generator that is purely JS based and is easily hackable. NOW I AM NOT SAYING I HACKED IT AND ORDERED FREE PIZZAs , the payment gateway sucks soo much that I didnt ordered anything. But yes, I do have something to share with you.

Fire up your Google Chrome (thats enough) and open

http://pizzaonline.dominos.co.in/slot-machine/process-slot.php

You will see the Coupon Generator, fill in the captcha and play it, in normal circumstances , chances are -

  • You will win a coupon , if you are feeling lucky, you can try once more and then if you win again, you will have to deal with the final discount coupon you get.
  • You will get a "Try Again", you can try till the case 1 is fulfilled.

Go to Dominos Coupon Generator

Lets turn the tables ,fire up developer console by pressing F12 .

Fireup Developer Console - the prohack.com

navigate to scripts – > slot.jsGo to Slots.js - theprohack.com

Open slots and navigate to this code

change values - theprohack.com

and change the attempts value to anything you wish

change values - theprohack.com

Now navigate to this code

change values - theprohack.com

and change the value to 1

change values - theprohack.com

Now time to change duration values

$(#slot+(slots+1)).animate( { backgroundPosition:"(0px "+bgPos+"px)"}, { duration: (10000+(slots*500)), complete: function(){
limit++; //console.log(limit);
if(limit == 4){

Change the subjected function to

$(#slot+(slots+1)).animate( { backgroundPosition:"(0px "+bgPos+"px)"}, { duration: (1+(slots*1)), complete: function(){
limit++; //console.log(limit);
if(limit == 4){

once done , slot timers and duration will be ultra quick.

Press Ctrl + S and click on Start / Try Again and see the results : ) Cool huh ?

Now tinker with some innocent looking functions for your experiment : ] and enjoy.

Check this For loop and especially check for #slot values and value of i , also, some crazy things can be done by changing the pixel values

if(buttonState == Try Again || buttonState == Please wait...){
               var i=1;
               for(i=1;i<=4;i++)
               $(#slot+i).css(background-position,0px 0px);
           }

Or Look for this function

$.post(process-slot.php,{ session_id : session_id},function(json){
                var slot_result = slot_result_desc = ; var limit = slots = 1;

Now again, I wont be divulging much here : P , you can modify completely the way the slot generator works and generate according to your whims : ] Work your way out.

Jackpot - theprohack.com - hacking Dominos Coupon Generator

PS : I did went into the site looking for coupons by being a Dominicon but the coupons there are just pathetic and almost same for all the traits like lazycon/freebicon etc.

How not to get Hacked – Choosing the Right Password

How not to get Hacked – Choosing the Right Password

Its a digital nightmare when your password gets hacked. Password compromise = your are fucked, straight away. How not to get Hacked – Choosing the Right Password - theprohack.comAnd if  you do happen to be at an important position in a firm, and unfortunately find yourself the root cause of company’s security problems, its time to learn a few basics of choosing the right password. Be it your Email ID, terminal login, voicemail or anything that uses a generic password protection system,you need to choose a secure password for your digital ventures. Nevertheless, this simple guide is applicable to every netizen online who wants to secure himself by choosing the right password. Cause in the end, its your password that makes it easy, or hard for attackers to gain access to your account.

About Bad Passwords

Poor weak passwords have the following characteristics (if you have even one,make sure to change it) -

  • Password size less than 15 characters
  • Password is a word from dictionary

The password is -

  • Name of family,pet,your favorite videogame character.
  • Computer terms,commands,website name,hardware,software etc.
  • Personal data like birthday,mobile phone numbers, address etc.
  • Any of the above spelled backwards! or succeeded or preceded by a number or letter (password1, 1 password)
  • In short any form of personal stupidity leads to tragic events :P

How to get hacked ?

  • Reveal your password to any one.
  • Reveal it in an email message,phone call,to your boss, give hints to others,share it with friends and co workers.
  • Write it down somewhere.
  • Keep same passwords for all your digital ventures, like emails, voicemails etc
  • NEVER CHANGE IT.

Passwords shall be hard to guess - theprohack.com

In any case, if you want the opposite, follow the opposite :)

Making a STRONG Password

use phrases to form passwords, these are much secure to form and hard to guess.

for eg, the phrase -

“ This is a super secure password and is hard to hack :P ”

will form a password given below by taking the first letter and substituting similar sounding words with numbers. See..its quite hard to hack :)

“ Tiassp&ih2h:P ”

Use numbers, letters, uppercase and lowercase and mix them freely to form you password. make sure its not a dictionary word and DOES NOT CONTAIN any characteristic of weak passwords stated earlier.

A more secure version is to use passphrases to form passwords. A passphrase is a longer version of password and hence its more secure. Make sure its easy to remember,not a famous quotation and hard to guess by intuition

As Clifford Stoll says,

Treat your password like your toothbrush. Dont let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months

He is damn right..just make sure you change it every month or more often to be secure.

I guess you will now be able to form secure passwords and deploy them fully.
